Noel Mercado "For Sale" Risograph Print

In collaboration with the Edith Farnsworth House (Noel Mercado), we are launching a limited-edition t-shirt and signed risograph print. Proceeds will support the exhibition material sourcing, furniture creation, travel, documentation, and other essentials needed to bring this new body of work to life. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated in bringing this forthcoming exhibition to fruition.

While researching the Farnsworth House, one of the most compelling images I encountered was not a photograph of the house itself, but rather a For Sale billboard once used to advertise the property. This unexpected visual immediately caught my attention. After reviewing dozens of images documenting the house’s architecture, renovations, and evolution over the years, it became clear that we are unlikely to ever see a Mies van der Rohe design marketed in such a way again.

This sign is more than just a relic of real estate but a representation of a pivotal moment in the house’s history. What began as a private summer retreat was on the cusp of shifting into a site of significant architectural and cultural importance.

Through my residency at the Farnsworth House, I am honored to contribute to this ongoing evolution, supporting its legacy and helping to ensure its relevance for generations to come.
